Doesn't your school have an anti-bullying plan?  most schools do these days.  check with a teacher or administrator.

That is a hard one, as some bullies don't back down no matter what you do. Try telling on the bully, but don't mention who that person is bulling so they don't get blamed for telling... Otherwise you could make things worse on the one being bullied. You could do what I did befriend the person being bullied as people in groups are less likely to get bothered.... Then again unless you are a strong person they could begin bulling you. What type of bulling is going on???

Yes, people can be very cruel.

Usually this is because people hurt/have been hurt.

But the truth is that if someone is put in harm's way because of such behavior, it should be reported to someone who can change the situation.

If it is you who is being bullied, without the details of the situation, so it is in your best interest to address it directly.  Do not pretend it is not happening, but if you feel that you really do not have the power to change it, enlist the help of someone who can.  Sometimes these people are your peers,  sometimes it goes beyond that, and requires a trusted adult to change things.

It is important that bullying is not left unchecked, no matter what.  We have seen many times when those who felt bullied resorted to violence to redeem themselves, and those who have done the bullying have often done the same.

if IT SEEMS THERE IS NOT A PEER AVAILABLE, OR IF IT'S BEYOND YOUR POWER, Find a TRUSTED SOURCE IF YOU ARE BEING BULLIED -- PARENT, ADULT FRIEND, COUNSELOR.  Do not let it go unchecked; it is unfair to you//the person being bullied, and can present a threat to others, as well.

        Remember Columbine.
