Ideally you should have :
Steady hands
New cards (not bent or damaged)
Good quality cards (they do vary). New casino decks would be a good choice, they are fairly durable. You will be using several decks, of course. Or you can buy in bulk from the Cardstacker Man himself.
Make sure the work area is clear of debris, and as smooth and level as you can possibly make it.
Area must also be free of drafts or possibility of a breeze coming in from the outside.
And then you go out and Buy this book because honestly, I cannot give you better advice than it contains, and the man deserves to be paid for tapping into his experience. Brian Berg's website is also excellent for giving lots of inspiration.
