How Soon After My Shih-zu Has Puppies Can I Give Them Away And How Soon After Can I Mate Her Again?
My shih-zu had 4 puppies on October 25, 2007 and I want to give them away and I want to know how soon can I mate her again.

I've never owned a Shih-tzu, but I know it's generally a good idea to keep smaller breed pups 8 weeks minimum, and 10 weeks can be best.
I don't know anything about your situation, but why are you breeding your dog again if you're just giving away the puppies? Unless you have a high quality, papered dog who's free of breed weaknesses--and mate her to same--you really aren't doing anyone any favors by breeding her. A lot of people are mistakenly under the impression that they can "recoup" the cost of a pet by breeding it a couple of times and selling the litters. This rarely works out, if you breed responsibly and pay quality stud fees and then vet bills for the litter (and don't try to cut corners by doing silly things you're not qualified to do like vaccinating at home, or assuming you'd be able to spot physical abnormalities on your own). Not to mention that you are responsible for those pups for the rest of their lives and must forever be willing to take them back from the people you sell them to. I hope you'll consider having your gal spayed after you've found good homes for her pups. Just think how nice it will be never having to deal with a dog in heat again. ;)

I agree with cvowels, I have 3 rescued shih-tzu, and one shih-poo that people just decide they don't love anymore. Save lives, spay you gal!! So, many puppies out there to love need homes and don't find one so they are "put down" why add to this? Look around the shelters, look at rescue sites. Need I say more.
