How Can I Convert VHS To DVD Recorder?

Answer Question

DVDs are better than VHS for a plethora of reasons: better video quality, superior sound quality, protection against wear and tear, easy storage etc. The moot point is to know how to convert your video tape to DVD. The first thing to do is to have a DVD conversion service that helps do the transfer for you. If there are a lot of videos to convert, then you can even do so in the convenience of your home.

You can use your computer to convert your video to DVD. Using an analog converter, you can copy the video to a digital format. The file is actually compressed into an MPEG-2 format before being burnt to a DVD format. You even have the liberty to add special effects, music etc before burning it onto the DVD. Another way of converting is with the help of a DVD recorder. Connect your VCR via cable to the DVD recorder. When the video is played, the recording is also done simultaneously. In order to improve the analog video quality as it is transmitted to the DVD recorder, you can also use a video processor like a time base corrector.

I bought a sony dvd/vhs recorder.  It indicated that it could do dubbing.  I wanted to convert a bunch of children VHS tapes that I bought for my children for my grand children.  When I tried to record it says that the tapes are protected.  How do I get around this.
