I was always told veggies grow on and in the ground, and fruits on bushes and trees.

Both of them are plants. The vegetables we can cook and eat, but there are some others that can be eaten fresh. All the fruits can be eaten fresh, their tastes are sweetie (they contain sugar), while the vegetables are not sweetie(in general). But both of them are very important to us, they contain various kinds of vitamins & others.
