These terms are not same and both of these two terms should not be confused with each other because they both have very clear differences. Travel guidelines are generally a series publicize by a publisher, addressing with a peculiar kingdom, town or area. These are helpful for travelers, as they offer a wealth of information on the buildings, the restaurants, main tourist attractions, and the journey instructions etc. The authors take a trip and write down these books for others.

Travel literature characteristically registers the citizens, actions, tourist attractions and approach of an instigator who is doing a tour of unfamiliar place for the enjoyment of voyage. An individual work is occasionally addressed as a travelog or journey. To be known as literature the work should have a logical description, or insights and worth, further than a simple logging of dates and events, for example diary or ship's log. Writing that recounts venture, examination and occupation is frequently grouped under journey literature, but it as well has its own type outdoor literature; these types will frequently extend beyond with no exact boundaries.
