As the term indicates, employee entitlements are perks and incentives that employees are entitled to. When you join a company, besides your base pay and other basic stuff like house rent allowance, there are certain components of your salary that the company gives you in the form of benefits for the service you are providing to the company. These benefits come under the banner of employee entitlements. For the work that you do and the hours that you put in, the company offers you these entitlements as appreciation.

Different companies could give different types of entitlements. Most big companies provide insurance coverage to employees. This is one of the most commonly seen entitlements that companies give their employees. Other entitlements could include a membership to a gym, exclusive privileges at certain outlets, etc. Employee entitlements are benefits that employees can afford to enjoy on the strength of the fact that they work for that specific employer. Some companies offer fabulous entitlements, some others offer average entitlements, and yet others offer lesser entitlements. Nowadays a large number of working people look at the entitlement component to determine if the company they are looking to join or are already working for has a good employee retention and benefit program.
