    Alpine Forests are actually a kind of Lowland forests. They are found at high altitude. They are normally around 500 meters above sea level. They are also found in cold climates. The trees and plants have adapted to surviving in the cold.

    The following are the uses of Alpine Forests:

    Habitat: The Alpine forests act as a home and habitat for all the natural species which includes plants and animals.

    Food: The plants and animals in the forest act as food for other animals.

    Water Cycle: Alpine forests are part of the water cycle. Their purpose is to regulate rainfall by cycling water between the soil and atmosphere.

    Erosion: They are helping in reduction of erosion and flooding.

    Recreation: They serve as recreational spots for the mankind.

    Global Warming: Alpine Forests are serving mankind in a way that they are helping in reduction of global warming. This is because they are made up of trees which absorb Carbon Dioxide. CO2 is the main cause of Global Warming.
