How Long Do I Have In The State Of Texas To File For Unpaid Wages, And How Long Is It Before I Can No Longer Collect These Wages?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The rule in Texas is that you would have to claim your unpaid wages within a time limit of 180 days of the date when you should have been paid. You should file your claim at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) through a special form made for this purpose. After the form is filled you also have to get it notarized or signed in the presence of a TWC official.  You can also file your claim via mail and address it to the Texas Workforce Commission-Labour Law, 101 East 15th Street, Austin, TX 78778-0001.

I believe that the time limit of collecting your wages would also be explained to you by Texas Workforce Commission. Just visit their official website at www.twc.state.tx.us for more details. This site has all the information regarding wages, overtime, and all other matters. But if you do not file a complaint within the time limit then you wouldn't be able to claim the benefits or compensation.
