Denise van Outen is a popular British actress and media person best known for her role as a presenter for The Big Breakfast and for her performance in the musical Chicago. Van Outen started her career at a young age; her first experience was as part of the chorus in the musical Les Miserables.
In the early part of her career she acted in several television shows and dramas like Kappatoo and then moved on to the world of media where her first assignment was as a weather and travel reporter for the Big Breakfast.
She was chosen to present the show in 1997 and was an instant hit with her charismatic presence complementing fellow presenter Johnny Vaughan's style resulting in a significant improvement in viewer ship ratings. She also essayed the role of Jill in the children's pantomime show Jack and the Beanstalk and also featured in the sitcom Babes in the Wood.
