How Was Venus & Aphrodite Born?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Aphrodite is seen as the Greek goddess of love and lust. Her Roman equivalent is Venus. Aphrodite is also known by two names; Aphrodite Urania who was born from the foam that emanated from the testicles of Uranus. Cronus castrated Uranus, carried his genitals over to the sea and threw them there, thus spreading his genes. The other name for Aphrodite is Aphrodite Pandemos who is said to be the daughter of daughter of Dione and Zeus. While Aphrodite Urania manifests a more long lasting and pure love, Aphrodite Pandemos is said to manifests a more physical love.  Roman and Greek history is filled with tales of Aphrodite and her many lovers, although the many version frequently contradict each other.
