The blue letter Bible a biblical website and search engine states that the phrase "I am is" used 811 in the KJV.

Does the blue letter search of the KJV include the instances in the gospels where Jesus took this name of God to himself? "I AM the Bread of Life", "I AM the Good Shepherd, "I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life", "I AM the Light of the World", "I AM the Door" and the other one, which is so easily missed "I AM He", when the soldiers came to arrest him in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Of course, it is easy to miss these in the English, because "I am" is the normal first person present of the verb to be in English. In N T Greek "ego eimi" is not the normal first person present of the verb "to be" and so these instances stand out far more clearly in the original language of the NT than they do in translation.

Wow- that is a lot of "I Am's!" But I love the I Ams of GOd. I love the Book of John where He often refers to Himself and "I Am." It really makes me feel closer to Him, to see how is every Answer to every need or want in life.
