What Happens When Migration Stops?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are numerous advocates both for and against migration, there is however one inevitable truth; it cannot be stopped. What would happen? Well why do people migrate? They do so for better opportunities and a better life. Most migrants comprise unskilled labour. Be they Mexicans in America, Africans in Europe, Indians in the Gulf, Afghanis in Iran; they are all willing to do the jobs that are too degrading, underpaid and exploitative for the locals to contemplate doing. If all the migrants were to leave, who would flip the burgers, collect the trash, clean the streets, nurse the sick and in some cases fight the wars. But a lot of other things would happen as well. As labour would become scarce, its price would rise and soap would the price of goods and commodities dependent on labour.
