Primarily the novel titled as 'The Caves of Steel' is not a science fiction but a detective story. This novel is considered as an example of the idea that Isaac Asimov always propagated. He used to say that fiction can be used as flavour to different genres of writing and must not be confined to a particular genre.
It is in this novel where Isaac Asimov introduced the two protagonists of many of his books. There names of the protagonists were Elijah Baley and R. Daneel Olivaw and they lived in three millennia of the future of the earth. During the course of their life the phenomenon of hyperspace travel had also been discovered and also the colonization process of a few worlds had been done and these worlds are a bit closer to earth. When you go for reading this novel, you will find it to be an enjoyable reading as it will introduce you to a different world.
