first of all put some oil in large pot or a kettle and heat it till it gets quite warm. After that, add the cardamom, and the cumin seeds and cook these until seeds crackle. Next, just add Onions, the garlic and the powders. Cook it until the onions get brownish and soft. When the onions get brown, add cut up pumpkin and water till not quite covered. Now cover and simmer until the pumpkin is tender. Mash, crush or pure. After that, return to the pot and add your choice of vegetables and cook until desired tenderness. You can also add some powered broth if desired or if you want to have a bit different taste. You can also add greens and can replace with acorn or the butter nut squash
