What Laptop Do We Need?
I need to buy a laptop for Uni, but I haven't the faintest idea what size memory, RAM, etc to buy. I'd like to use it for downloading/storing music, using the Internet, Uni assignments, maybe having one or two games on there. I'd like a DVD writer as well and a wifi connection. My Dad also wants a laptop, but really just for an Internet connection and photoshop. Can anyone recommend some specifications? I don't know where to start!

I recommend a
Dad:
Pentium Duo core (or better)
Why? SPEED
3-4GB of RAM.
Why 3-4 GB of RAM? VISTA itself is a very RAM hungry OS. Photoshop also uses a decent amount of RAM.
120-200 GB HD
Why? Because extra space is always good.
TrueColor/HD Screen
Why? Best picture around.
You:
Same as above with one exception:
Bigger HD need space for all that good music you'll be downloading.
