Wordsworth is the representative of Romantic poets in England. His poems concerns nature. Nature is pious as seen in "My Heart Leaps Up." the persona says that he saw the rainbow when he was a child and now as a man he can still see it and hopes to see it as well when he gets old; or else, let him die. The use of paradox in the line, "The child is father of the man" tells us about the innocence of children who are closer to nature than adults who are away from nature and are corrupted by materialism. The idea of humans not being part of nature is also seen in "The World Is Too Much With Us," when the speaker of the poem says that he would like to see Proteus rising from the sea and hearing Triton blowing his horn when he looks at the sea from the meadow. The mythological allusion here signifies the fact that people in the past lived closer to nature and used thier imagination to explain phenomenon in nature while we, living in the mercantile world, and being obsessed with "getting and spending" lack imagination and alienate ourselves from nature.
