What Was The First Camera?

Answer Question

The history of camera can be traced back to the book of optics which was written in 1021. It was written and proved by an Iraqi scientist Ibn-al-haytam which used a pin hole to project the image onto a viewing surface.

The first photograph however was made in 1814 by Joseph Nicephore who used a sliding wooden box camera made by Charles & Vincent in Paris. It was based on the principles of silver and chalk mixture that darkens under exposure to light. This is said to be the introduction to photography.

I think the first camera was made just before the victorian times. It was very expensive and only very rich people had it. And in order to take a picture of someone, that person had to be sitting in the exact same position, not moving a muscle for three minutes. (that's probably why people in the pictures that were taken in victorian times never smiled!)
