Is It Bad To Be Strict On Your Child?
My daughter is fifteen. Her friends come here but she is not allowed overnight to their house. She is not allowed to date or talk to boys on the phone. The way society is now, the boys are all pretty thuggish around here, and her friends get to party smoke go out as long as they want. Half of her girlfriends are pregnant. A lot of people think I should just let her go. I believe I am keeping her safe.

Being overly-strict can lead to rebellion and block communication. It is better to choose ones battles.
One way of cutting her some slack would be to acquire a speaker phone. Any boy who was willing to have his conversation monitored could phone. It would cut out the poo-poo heads in a hurry. She'd also learn which ones were two-faced. If they had a different "face" when on speaker phone, maybe they would also be different behind her back.

No it isn't, just don't be brutal. The stricter less of a hard time you will have trusting your kid because you taught them well.

It nothing wrong in being strict with your daughter. Just talk to her and tell her you love and care for her. She will thank you in the long run when she gets older.
