Answer Question

Limestone is a sedimentary rock made chiefly of calcium carbonate. Lime stone is created by clastic and non-clastic purposes. The splitting up and deposition of corals, shells and other marine organisms through the action of sea-waves and ocean currents are known as clastic limestones. Non-clastic limestones are made either as a precipitate or are formed by the lithification (conversion of sediments into sedimentary rocks) of marine shells, coral reefs and skeletons of marine organisms. The sodium carbonate in the limestone is usually found in the form of calcite. There can be some amount of dolomite (magnesium carbonate) also in a limestone.

Limestones are known to have a grainy texture. More often than not, the grains are nothing but little fragments of animal shell fossils. Limestone is also used to condition the quality of the soil. Besides it is used to decorate the floors and exteriors and interiors of buildings Limestone is also useful for manufacturing glass.
