I Enjoy Craft Work But Have Heard It Could Be Dangerous. Is This Correct?

Answer Question

Craft work is a relatively safe hobby particularly compared to extreme sports or the like.  However, it is important to take some basic precautions, particularly if you have small children who may be tempted to 'play' with your craft materials.
Obviously if you use glue and any flammable materials, make sure that they are not left lying around where they may ignite or a child may 'taste' them.
If you have cutting tools, again lock these away, but also for your own use, make sure that they are kept sharp.  You are more likely to injure yourself on a blunt tool than a sharp one !
If you use strong dyes, glues or paints, try to ensure that the room in which you work with them is well ventilated, so that you do not inhale too many fumes.
If you use fine sanding tools etc, then ensure that you wear some eye protection to avoid the dust going into the eyes.
Finally just take sensible precautions and do not let worries over safety ruin your hobby !
