What Is Landscape Garden Design?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Landscape garden design is basically a method of laying out a garden in terms of the levels and contours of the different areas within the garden. It incorporates knowing which plants of which height will suit the overall design of the garden. A knowledge of the different plants and their growing and flowering patterns is essential.
Landscape gardeners normally add more interest to a garden by setting out different areas.
For example a pond area or a lawned area, which may include a place to sit and enjoy the sun on a bench. Then a shaded area or a pergola to protect against midday sun and provide some privacy.
Incorporating paths and lawned areas requires some knowledge of how to lay paths with gravel, stone , or brink and also requires a knowledge of how to plant and maintain a lawn.
While lawns seem simple to maintain, in reaity, they require a lot of maintenance and knowledge of lawnfeeding to keep them in tiptop shape.
