In South Carolina, if you are drawing a retirement pension from your former employer, you will be required to report your monthly pension benefits to the Employment Security Commission when filing a claim. Example: If you draw $300.00 a month pension, this means that each week, $69.23 will be taken from your Unemployment benefit check.  If your weekly unemployment benefit check is $326.00, you will actually draw $256.77 each week. If there are any pension benefits that were not deducted from you check and you have been receiving them for any period of time, you will be required to repay any benefits that were not paid.
