Kansas is the 34th State in the Union or the United States of America. It is a Midwest state located near the center of the United States.
Kansas lies to the South of Nebraska, West of Missouri, North of Oklahoma and East of Colorado. The Kansas River after which the state gets its name runs through it.
To understand simply where Kansas is located one could say that if the map of America was used as a dart board, Kansas would be the bull's eye. Three States keep it from Canada to the North, two from Mexico in the South, three from the Atlantic to the East and four from the Pacific to the West, Bull's eye.
