Does Hedgehogs Need To Be Washed?

I wonder. If someone has a Hedgehog as pet,
it requires washing?
And if someone can't wash the Hedgehog because of his spikes, can he put him somewhere to swim on his own?

Yes, it is very necessary to wash the hedgehogs as if dirty, can cause number of diseases. For washing them you need to have a tub, shampoo, brush and towel. With the help of shampoo you can wash them and brush them properly. After that pat with towel. You can get more information on the following link:

If I were you I would call a vet about this. I looked it up at www.wikipedia.org, and didn't see that you can bathe them, but I did see that you can contract a ringworm or dermatophytosis infection from them, so you really should find out if you can bathe them. If you are able to, then I would make sure to wear a heavy glove, and maybe some thick pants, unless the critter likes the water, then it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps, good luck.
