Vietnam Why Did Most People In The U.s.want It To End?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Because of the monstrosity the war was. People disagreed with the war because it was a TV war. They got to see the terrible things that happened whilst sitting at home in their lounge rooms. The type of warfare (jungle and guerrilla) was not what the Americans were expecting, and they were sickened by the sight of innocent people getting killed. People in the streets, who may or may not have been communist, were killed. They were monkeys hung as spies, so to speak (and any one who knows their English/French history will understand what that means).
