    WWW stands for World Wide Web. It is also called Web. It provides the facility to publish information on Internet. It is a collection of documents or web pages stored on computers permanently connected with Internet around the world. These web pages are connected to one another using hyperlinks. Anyone can view these web pages through a web browser. A collection of related web pages is called website. Each website has a unique address. The address is called URL. It stands for Universal Resource Locator. It provides a facility of email account. It provides the facility of free email address.

                     People can communicate over the Internet using email facility. Different people discuss different topics and distribute their ideas to other people by email. Software is available to administrate email discussion groups. The most common program is the listserv. A variety of topics are covered by listserv. Many of them are academic. When you subscribe to a listserv, message from other subscribers are automatically sent to your mailbox. You subscribe to a listserv by sending and e-mail message to a computer program called a list server. List servers are located on computer networks throughout the world. This program handles subscription information and distributes messages to subscribers.
