If pilot flame is lazy or orange, clean pilot assembly and orifice. Change the thermocouple. The top 3/8 of t-couple should be in the flame. Are you low on gas? I mean almost out? If after all that and it still drops out, it could be a bad pilot coil in which case you replace the gas valve.
