How Do You Read A Beam Scale?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A beam scale consists of a base on which a person stands, a vertical arm extending to the waist level and scales that depict the weight of a person. There are basically two sets of scales one on the top that records weights from one to hundred or hundred and fifty in lots of ten kilograms and a second scale that reads one to ten. Towards the right of the scale is located a horizontal needle that waivers between the two ends of a measuring device. An exact reading is shown when the needle is at dead centre without leaning towards either end. The top scale will provide readings in tens to this will have to add the readings of the lower scale to get accurate readings.
