What Is The Advantage Using Currency Over Using Cheques?

Answer Question

In some cases, your bank may charge you a service fee each time you pay with a cheque. These fees are not usually very high, but they can add up if you pay with cheques on a regular basis.

Another problem is that many stores no longer accept cheques, because it can take several business days for them to clear and for the money to actually be deposited in the vendor's account. Additionally, there is no way to tell that a cheque is valid and that there are sufficient funds on the client's account. It is not uncommon for a deposited cheque to come back as "NSF" (no sufficient funds).

If you do not have cash on you, or credit cards, and you must pay with a cheque, you may be forced to have it certified at a bank, or you may need to purchase a money order, and your bank will charge you significant extra fees for these services.
