Portugal is located in Southwestern Europe. It's on the Iberian Peninsula and borders the North Atlantic Ocean and Spain. A transcontinental empire, Portugal was one of the major political and economical powers during the 15th and 16th centuries. Ruled by the Constitution of 1967, Portugal is a democratic country. The Assembly of the Republic, The President of the Republic, The Government and the Courts form the four major organs of the Portuguese politics. Complete separation between Legislative, Judicial and Executive is granted by the Constitution. Portugal enjoys a Mediterranean climate. It is known to be one of the warmest countries in Europe. The autumns and winters are usually windy and rainy while the summers and springs are warm and sunny. Azores which is a part of Portugal is subject to severe earthquakes. Primitive Reason and Three and a Quarter are famous bands from Portugal.
