I recently bought my laptop and I shopped for 2 weeks until I found the best deal. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, and its awesome! It comes with the new vista, and I have not had any problems with it...I love it. Dell offers a really good payment schedule so you don't have to pay for it upfront if you don't want to...I did just because I didn't want to fuss with payments. You get tech support free... You don't get that if you buy it in a store, and lots of options so you can customize it to your needs. Check them out at Dell.com www.dell.com

The best brands are Toshiba, Dell, Asus. They're generally well priced, and have good features. Now you gotta pick a model
