    Tracey's signed to Stiff Records in the early eighties and had 5 top 40 hits in the UK, some of which were also hits in USA.

    "Breakaway" was first in 1983, getting to number 4 in the UK and number 70 in USA.  The video for this song is remembered for her performance that featured her using a hairbrush as a microphone.  "They Don't Know" reached number 2 in the UK and number 8 in USA and was written by Kirsty MacColl who was also signed to Stiff Records.  She sang backing vocals as well.  The video also featured a cameo appearance by Paul McCartney.

    "Move Over Darling" reached number 8 in the UK also in 1983 and "My Guy" in 1984 reached number 23.  This was a cover version of the Madness hit and featured Neil Kinnock who was at the time the Leader of the Opposition.  

    Tracey's last UK hit was "Sunglasses" in 1984 which reached number 18.
