Who Is The Most Capped Scottish Footballer?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The most capped player for Scotland is former Liverpool and Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish.  Kenny managed to play for his country one hundred and two times in what was a highly successful playing career.

Dalglish is still the only player in Scotland's history to amass one hundred caps for his nation.

Former Manchester United and Aberdeen goalkeeper Jim Leighton comes in second, after amassing ninety one caps; Leighton was one of Manchester United bosses Alex Ferguson's first signings when he took over at the Manchester giants and won an FA cup winners medal in nineteen ninety.

Next in third place comes ex Rangers and newly appointed National coach Alex McLeish, who managed to play seventy seven times for his nation.

Paul McStay comes in fourth, with a creditable seventy six caps for Scotland.

Celtic legend Tommy Boyd comes in at fifth place, the former hoops player, turned out for his country on seventy two occasions.
