Born in Evington Leicester in nineteen seventy eight, current Wigan Athletic centre forward Emile Heskey signed for Liverpool in the year two thousand and stayed with the Anfield outfit for four years, scoring thirty nine league goals in one hundred and fifty league games.
SIgned for a fee in the region of eleven million pounds by former Liverpool manager Gerrard Houllier, Heskey joined the club he supported as boy from his home town club Leicester City.
Although establishing himself as an England international during his time with Liverpool, Heskey never really managed to fulfill the potential he threatened at the Foxes whilst wearing the red of Liverpool. Seemingly, his biggest problem seemed to be his lack of self belief and despite his size and build and obvious talent he failed to impose himself in far too many games for the club.
In two thousand and four he was sold by Liverpool to Birmingham City.
