Can Removal Of A Tree Stump Cause Sinking Ground?

    As the tree roots rot the ground will sink.

      Yes, if you do not tamp down the ground/soil as you refill the hole.in other words you have to fill the void  the tree stump left.

        The tree acts as cement. Thats why when it rains after alot of trees are cut a landslide occurs. They are like a foundation
