Answer Question

Andrew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He was called by Jesus whilst fishing with his brother, Simon, in the Sea of Galilee. Jesus walked along the shore and shouted out to them, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." We are told in the Gospel according to Matthew that they immediately left their nets and followed him. He was born at Bethsaida and was previously a disciple of John the Baptist.

Andrew pointed out to Christ the boy carrying the loaves and fishes for the famous feeding of the five thousand. He was present together with the other apostles when Christ instituted the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and told his followers to go out to the whole world and proclaim the good news of His resurrection. After this appearance of Jesus after he rose from the dead, Andrew preached Christianity in several countries and was put to death for his fait by crucifixion at Achaia. Roman Catholics celebrate his feast day on November 30th every year.
