What Does Flying Squirrel Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The flying squirrel could be referred to as any member of two separately distinctive groups of rodents who have the ability to perform gliding leaps. This is done with the help of membranes that function like parachutes that connect the front legs and the hind legs on both sides.

They are natives of North America and Eurasia. They have soft fur and characteristic big eyes. They eat nuts, plants and sometimes feed on insects. They hardly ever go down on ground surface. They can glide for a distance of more than two hundred feet in between trees. They are nocturnal creatures, plus they live on tree tops, hence they are not easily visible.

The Flying Squirrel is also a name given to a tequila-based cocktail. It consists of Gold tequila, triple sec, sour mix, sweet lime juice, and orange juice and is had with crushed ice.
