Globe theatre is generally a name given to one of the theatres that are located in London, which is associated with William Shakespeare. The first globe theatre was built in 1599. It was built by the playing company of which Shakespeare was a part of. However, this theatre was brought down by fire on June 29, 1613. It was again rebuilt in June, 1614. However, this theatre was again shut down in 1642.

The later in the year 1997, this theatre was again open but was renamed to "Shakespeare's Globe Theatre" or the "New Globe Theatre." Some of the plays that were staged here was of Shakespeare's post-1599 plays, namely, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Othello, King Lear and Hamlet.

The globe theater is the place where all of william shakespeare's plays were performed when he was alive. Women were not allowed to act so young children took the place of women. It is situated in bankside in london next to the river thames. It is called a globe but in fact it has 12 sides.
