    Santa Clara is the capital of Villa Clara, a province in Cuba. This city is situated in the central region of the province as well as the country. The last battle of the Cuban revolution was fought in Santa Clara during 1958. The Central University of Las Villas is situated in Santa Clara.

    Before 1977, this city was a part of Las Villas province. This place has a vivid history and the famous revolutionary, Che Guevara has a museum dedicated to him in Santa Clara. There is also a monument and a mausoleum that houses the remains of the revolutionary leader and his comrades who were killed in Bolivia during 1967. Parque Vidal is one of the traditional places in Cuba. It is a park laid on an entire square block. Visitors and local inhabitants crowd this place every day.
