Panola basically is the name of a village located in Woodford County, Illinois, based in the United States of America. According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was estimated at thirty three.
Panola is one of the minutest communities in Illinois presently. It is positioned exactly two miles north of El Paso, besides Illinois Route 251. Out of the thirty three people residing in this region only twenty seven have the right to vote. The term "Panola" was made-up by J.B. Calhoun, who was the land commissioner of the Illinois Central Railroad.
The census report of the year 2000 also stated that the total area of this region was 0.5 square kilometre and the population density was said to be 63.7 per square kilometre.
