    Smart cards are the cards that have embedded integrated circuits that can receive and process information. They are effective tools for business transaction and are a flexible, secure and standard way with minimal human intervention. They are widely used for financial transaction in the form of fuel cards, ATM cards, SIMs for cell phones etc. Whereas a Pan card is a Permanent Account Number card, which is used for Identification. It is used only in India. It is issued to all taxpayers by the income tax office. Activities such as an account, getting a phone line, receiving salary or professional fees require PAN card. It is a biometric identity card that has specific features.
