The world's largest cruise ship at the moment is Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas.
Freedom of the Seas is a floating skyscraper at 237 feet tall and 1,112 feet long with 15 passenger decks. It is a seagoing village that can carry more than 4,000 passengers.
Built at a cost of $800 million at Aker Yards ASA in Norway, the Freedom of the Seas is a vessel of superlatives. It is a behemoth of 160,000 gross registered tons and is longer than the Eiffel Tower is high. By comparison, the Titanic was a puny 46,329 gross registered tonnes.
Located within its 15 passenger decks are 10 restaurants and 16 bars and sports facilities that include swimming pools, a pool for surfing and an ice rink. Among the other amenities are a day spa and solarium, a cinema, casino and numerous dance clubs and nightspots.

It is the Queen Mary II that is currently holding the status of the largest cruise ship in the world. But according to reports, her status of being the largest is in danger as the Royal Caribbean, the American Cruise line, has placed an order for a cruise ship that is slated to become the biggest in the world when it is ready to hit the water.
The company has ordered it with a firm from Finland and when it will be ready it is expected to weigh about 220,000 tonnes and measure about 360 metres in length. Its width is going to be forty-seven metres and the height of the ship will be seventy-three metres. The ship will be able to hold 5,4000 guests and the company is pretty excited about the prospects because it has visualized that the growth in the tourism sector will attract more guests to its ship.
