Most recently Imran Khan who is the chief of the Tehrik-e-Insaf, a Pakistani political party, has issued a statement according to which a legal team is soon to file a case against the chief of the MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement, which is another political party), Altaf Hussain for being the major culprit behind the bloodshed and killings that took place in Karachi on the 12th of May, 2007.  This statement was given by Imran Khan at a function that was organized by the Islamabad Bar Association.

According to Imran Khan, MQM was the one responsible for all the misfortunes that surfeited the city of Karachi and hence it was a terrorist organization.  Moreover Imran blamed Tony Blair for protecting Altaf Hussain (who resides in London in exile) and for killing innocent Muslims under the veneer of 'war against terrorism'.  Imran Khan was also critical of the Pakistan government who had failed to maintain the law and order situation in Pakistan.
