    Warsak Dam: It has been built on the river Kabul at Warsak about 20 miles from Peshawar. It has a reservoir of 735 feet long and 235 feet wide, besides two high level canals that irrigate an area of 1,20,000 acres of land on both sides of the river. The main crops grown are sugar-cane and fruits. This dam produced 1, 60,000 kilo. Of electricity which can be increased to 2, 40,000 kilo of electricity in full production.

    Rawal Dam: It has been built on the Korung River. It is 80 feet high, 820 feet long and forms a three-mile square lake that supplies water to Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

    Mangla Dam: It has been constructed on Jhelum River, about 20 miles upstream of the Jhelum town. The dam has a maximum height of 380 feet and the water reservoir is 40 miles long. It is multi-purpose project which supplies additional water for irrigation and has the capacity to produce 3, 00,000 kilo of electricity.

    Tarbela Dam: It has been built on Indus River near Tarbela, about 30 miles upstream from Attock. The water reservoir has been designed to be 400 feet high and 25 miles long. Tarbela dam is believed to be the largest earth-filled dam in the world. It is designed to supply water for 40 lakh acres of land and to produce 21, 00,000 kilo of electricity.
