Dogs can have panic attacks under different physiological and psychological conditions. Dogs show signs of being panic during fearsome conditions like thunderstorm. Separation anxiety, which occurs when dog is left alone for sometime, is another cause. Nervous conditions can also cause panic attacks in dogs.

Foods which dogs don't like can cause panic attacks. Other reasons can be injuries, pain etc. Dogs also become panic due to other animals like cats or rats which are seen by him occasionally.

So, you should look for any injury or pain in your dog and get vet help. Otherwise note under which conditions your dog become panic and then react appropriately.
