Automotive Troubleshooting, Is It A Loose Connection To The Alternator?

I have a 93 Jeep Cherokee I'm having problems with the alternator. With a cold engine the voltage gauge show no voltage charging about a 10 volt reading . After warming about 10 minutes the voltage gauge rises to 14 volts.

    It could be your voltage regulator

      The voltage regulator is a strong possibility. Also how high is the engine idling when it's cold. If it's idling really low that could be the issue which would mean you have another problem.
