    All contraceptives are not safe even condoms can cause allergic reactions. Tube ligation and non hormonal intrauterine devices can also cause many side effects. Most commonly used contraceptives are hormonal contraceptives which are available in the form of pills, patch, implants, injections and IUD. This group of contraceptives has long list of side effects like nausea, vomiting, changes in weight, loss of appetite, cycle irregularities, weakness, numbness, vision problems, problems of balance, thrombosis, headache, migraine, chest pain, sweating, stomach pain, jaundice, depression, breast lump, breast pain, freckles, acne, facial hair growth, swelling of feet and hands, vaginal itching and yeast infections, loss of hairs from head and problems with contact lenses.
