How To Keep Toads Out Of Backyard Ponds?
Answers
Do not kill or injure any toads in Great Britain as all British amphibians - which includes toads- are protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.

The best way to do this would be to make a fence and thereby create your own little toad exclusion zone. This will ensure that your backyard pond is toad free. The fence will have to be at least sixty centimetres above the ground and extend at least six inches beneath the ground. The choice of materials will really depend upon you and your budget.
All frogs come in to back yard ponds looking to satisfy their basic wants like shelter, food, water and breeding. You can also poison the toads or simply kill them but such methods do not suit everyone. If you do get a fence put around though you can even think about putting a fence around your whole compound. Keep in mind though that doing this will probably mean that the fence should not extend to the main gate so that you can drive your car in and out without difficulty.
