It is around 2,500 miles from Los Angeles to New York as the crow flies. So depending on where you start and end it will probably be between 2,500 miles and 3,000 miles!

The total area across which The United States of America is spread is 3.7 million square miles or 9.6 million square kilometres out of which 4.7%is water and the rest is land. By the virtue of its area, it is the third largest Country in the world. America lies in the western hemisphere and comprises of 50 states out of which 48 states lie in between the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean in central North America. It is surrounded by Canada on the north, Mexico on the south and Alaska on the Northwest region.

The United States of America is home to a number of immigrants from all over the world especially South East Asia, Mexico and Canada. It is because of this diversity that USA has the world's largest national economy with a GDP of $13 trillion.

The United States of America basically is a nation located of the western hemisphere. United States has a total of nearly fifty states and numerous territories. United States is said to be one of the most culturally assorted countries.

The total area of United States is estimated to be 3,718,695 square miles. According to the census conducted in the year 2000, the total population of this country was estimated to be 281,421,906, having an average population density of 80 per square mile.

United States was established after thirteen colonies declared independence from Great Britain in the year 1776. The territory of US expanded tremendously during the 19th century, gaining additional territory from United Kingdom as the years passed by. After the split of Soviet Union in the year 1991, United States, became the world's only surviving super power.
